About

Gelica Tatarenko (She/Her), RN, RP (Qualifying)

Psychotherapist | Psychiatric Emergency Nurse | Virtual Therapy for Adults and Couples in Ontario

I’m a Filipino Canadian therapist with a deep understanding of how culture, family dynamics, and intergenerational expectations can shape our mental health. I support adult individuals and couples navigating complex trauma, anxiety, burnout, and relationship struggles—especially those who often feel they have to "keep it all together" for others.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent years working as a psychiatric emergency nurse in downtown Toronto and in shelter settings. These experiences, alongside my own healing as a first-generation Filipina, led me to trauma-focused therapy—both personally and professionally.

In our work together, you can expect warmth, curiosity, and a space where your experiences are met with care and without judgment. My approach draws from trauma-informed, attachment-based, and evidence-based practices, including CBT, CPT, EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic tools to help regulate the nervous system.

Whether you're exploring boundaries with family, coping with burnout, or feeling stuck after years of holding in your emotions, you don’t have to carry it alone. Healing is possible and it can begin with a single conversation.

Virtual appointments available across Ontario.
