Psychic Medium, Spiritual Gifts Integration Coach, Ceremonialist, and Community Events Coordinator
Iris (she/her) is a multi-passionate practitioner who is greatly influenced by the healing arts and wisdom of her Visayan and Tagalog roots. Her current offerings include: intuitive readings, intuitive private ceremonies, 1:1 spiritual gifts integration coaching, and community workshops.
EDUCATION
Before her spiritual awakening in 2017 and even years after, Iris followed a mostly conventional path in terms of her education and career path. Raised in a religious household, Iris grew up being afraid of and hiding her gifts due to the fear-based ideologies others had regarding intuitive abilities. She graduated in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Maryland. Upon graduating, Iris entered the workforce as a hospital contractor. She constantly questioned her path and knew that there was much more. She felt a deeper calling.
HOW SHE STARTED
Following what she calls “breadcrumbs from the Universe", Iris decided to pursue her yoga teacher certification in 2021 and lived at an ashram to dive deeper into her spiritual practice. In 2022 she received two life-changing psychic medium readings by two different readers, who had both relayed to her Spirit’s invitation to serve the collective as an intuitive healer. Iris accepted the call and quit her corporate job to dedicate her energy to this new path. In 2023 she worked with a mediumship mentor to help her understand her gifts and strengthen them to be able to help others. Her dedication to this path led to the birth of her passion project, Laya Kaluluwa, which now provides her an avenue to be a bridge for Spirit. Her intuitive offerings give her the space to allow the energy to flow and be expressed how it's meant to, without restrictions.
CURRENT FOCUS
By no means has this journey been an “easy” feat— though she’s remained dedicated to the inner and outer work required to elevate and continue showing up as a healer. Frustrated by the discrepancies she observed within mainstream spirituality and spiritual groups, Iris is now on a journey of decolonizing her spirituality and reconnecting back to her indigenous roots. She is committed to bridging the gap between what mainstream “new age” spirituality preaches with the Earth-based indigenous ways of being and practices that have been the norm prior to global colonization.
With her business, Laya Kaluluwa, her intentions are to empower others using the tools she wished she had on her journey. Iris wants to help others grow their confidence so that they too can step into their own unique, destined paths.
